FOOTHILL FOCUS

Number 2 FEBRUARY 2009 Volume 17

Potpourri

I haven't written my gossip column for some time, so here goes. Did you know that we have a football star in the family? Kevin McLaughlin, who played footballfor King's Academy this fall, was selected to his league's all-conference defensive first team. He did, after all, run back an interception for a touchdown in a playoff game. Do you wave at C-130s flying overhead? Saylor Jagow does because sheknows her daddy is a navigator in them as they head out on search and rescueflights. By the way if you've seen lights on in Covenant House, it is because Hans, Tamera, & Saylor Jagow are keeping the place warm and lived in waiting for Kreigand Karen Ecklund and family to return. Did you see the movie,"March of the Penguins"? Wasn't it beautiful? Mark Liedstrand tells us it's just as beautiful inperson except for the aroma of a thousand penguins. He found this out on his Christmas trip to Antarctica. Men, come see his pictures (minus aroma) on February 7th at the Men's Breakfast. Did you stand near Jeff Carlson on his recent visit to church and see how he's grown by two or three inches? That can happen whenyou have major back surgery to straighten out the kinks. It turns out that Corinne Cory and Jon Cerrona work at the same solar startup, Solyndra. Corinne in HR and Jon as a mechanical engineer. Did you hear that Bryanne Taladua is working closerto home? Having completed her time in Nevada which qualified her for a nursinglicense in California, she's now at Stanford Hospital. She loves it, as does the whole family. Barbara Tom was glued to the TV watching President Obama's inauguration. No, not so much to see the new president as to see if she could spot her son, David and his wife, sitting next to the Marine Band right below the platform. Theywere guests of Senator Feinstein.

Well, those are some of the interesting stories that Foothillers have been involvedin during recent months. Do you know any that should be told? Let me know.
